Milo Greene † The Kooks † Fox Theater

I am so excited for this Thursday (3/1). The Kooks are playing at the Fox Theater, and if you haven't already bought your tickets.. do so HERE. I bought my tickets a while back and I just found out today that Milo Greene is opening up for The Kooks! I am so excited, normally I have no idea who the opener is but this time it's a band that I love! I saw them, and Grouplove over the summer at the Hammer Museum in LA for free. Their set was incredible and had great vibes. I am planning on going to Milo Greene show (4/7) at the Constellation Room, which is inside the Observatory (formerly The Galaxy) in Santa Ana. I'm mostly likely still going to because their music is so good.

My favorite song at the moment by Milo Greene is Silent Way

WHITE ARROWS † UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA † ECHOPLEX

Last night I went to Echoplex to see TRMRS, White Arrows, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. All I got to say is that it is never a dull night when there's a show at the echoplex (below the echo). Unknown Mortal Orchestra headlined that night, and even though I only knew one song I still had a great time. My favorite song by them is How Can U Luv Me. I remember I was in the smoking area with my friend and I could hear them starting to play this song. . I ran inside to dance. Such great vibes, I recommend seeing UMO. White Arrows played before UMO and they did a cover of I'm On Fire by Bruce Springsteen! Totally caught me off guard, and as this is one of my favorite songs, so I lost it. White Arrows are an amazing band, I have seen them live before at a zombie prom and had a great time. Serious, just go to their shows and get weird.

Among Savages

Been listening to Among Savages a lot lately so I thought I would share this lovely music with you guys. My friend showed me the songs Only You, and Terrified. Which are probably my favorite songs out of all of them. I catch myself listening to them on my ipod on shuffle and falling in love with the song over and over. I don't know to much about the artist, but I hope to see a tour in the near future! Also , if there is a show in the Los Angeles area I will for sure go! Such a great new artist, you guys better take a listen.

DANNIJO

Dannijo necklace

There is nothing more that I love than mixing feminine with masculine designs. I think having a Dannijo piece will create such a look that is just to die for. I love a statement necklace, and mixing it with a casual tee is the perfect look. I definitely wish I could afford a Dannijo necklace. I search for cheaper versions but nothing compares to the richness of their designs. I discovered dannijo designs through the Man Repeller blog, which Leandra Medine also contributes with creating and designing some pieces. What on my wishlist for christmas? So far Dannijo necklace is number 1 on this list, I need to start saving my money for this!!

Christopher Reimer (of Women)

The guitarist for WOMEN passed away recently. Christpher (End left in photo) reportedly passed away in his sleep, and the cause of death is currently unknown. It's always sad to hear when someone dies, and I can only imagine what his friends and family are going through. I just wanted to take a moment, to give my thoughts and prayers to his loved ones. Will be playing their songs on repeat.

Some Nights - Fun.

Get a FREE DOWNLOAD of Some Nights thanks to Music Ninja!
Here is a song from their new album. that comes out tomorrow.

Billie Porter

Someone that's my age and doing what I can only wish I could be doing is always inspiring. Billie Porter is a Journalist/Writer/Blogger/DJ/FashionEnthusiats based in the UK. I first saw her as an interviewer for bands like Is Tropical, and Sky Ferreira. I don't know to much about her, but her care free attitude and sense in fashion is a breathe of fresh air. I searched to see if she has a soundcloud, cause she DJs from time to time but unfortunately no luck with that, I think that would be awesome mix-tapes if she made some. Also, I see she has a fuckyeahbilliejdporter.tumblr.com so I would decide to check out.. some are interesting. I only wonder now is she going to Coachella this year? I would love to know which sets she is gonna be seeing.

WHITE ARROWS † UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA † ECHOPLEX

I am going to a show later this week to see Unknown Mortal Orchestra, White Arrows, and TRMRS. I have seen White Arrows before at a Zombie Prom little over a year ago. There shows are fun, and I have been meaning to see them again. Funny story, I was in LA going to one of White Arrows show and was walking in the club only to get kicked out cause it was 21+ !! Had no idea & I miss the show! Unknown Mortal Orchestra is playing, and I have heard a couple of theirs songs, so far what I have heard sounds good so I am excited to check them out. Also, I just heard that the TRMRS are playing as well the same night! So stoked, normally their shows have lots of energy. Last time I saw them live. .  I broke my foot, cause I got to rowdy. I'm still wearing a foot brace, so I might have to take it easy during their set. None the less, this is going to be a great night and I'm excited for this Saturday!

If interested go to TICKETWEB to buy a ticket, it's only $12.
Also, check out the FB event page if you need more information.

THE WANTED

THE WANTED ||  TWITTER ||  FACEBOOK ||  YOUTUBE ||  VEVO ||  MYSPACE

I am obsessing over this British/Irish boy band, The Wanted! They are from the UK and have recently finished up their US tour filled with shows, talk shows, radio shows, and more! I unfortunately heard about them coming to Los Angeles a little to late and their show at the El Rey Theatre was sold out! It was a complete bummer, I would have LOVED to seen them live. I have been listening to their song Glad You Came for some time now, and I recently heard the song play on 102.7 fm and FREAKED out! I don't usually ever listen to the radio because it tends to play the same pop songs over and over. When The Wanted was playing though, I was so excited I started dancing (I might of had a few drinks) so dancing only seemed right. I hope these boys have another tour in the US sometime soon because I really would love to go to a show. Luckily enough all the boys have a twitter, so go a head and follow them!

Please watch their music video for Glad You Came

Jean Tonique

Heard one of his songs through Hype Machine. So Good! My favorite is the remix he did of Naive by The Kooks. Jean Tonique spins electro/house/disco kind of genres. I would definitely want to go to one of his gigs, but sadly he is based in Paris! I recommend checking out his other work on SoundCloud.

Take a listen to my other favorite tune!

BRADLEY SOILEAU

Love making new discoveries! I was wondering who the guy was from Born to Die - Lana Del Rey music video was. His name is Bradely, a male model based in New York. Not really sure how but I found his soundcloud and he has a great mix. What won me over is a bit from the mix when The Virgins came in, and then he managed to mix in Kid Cudi, Daft Punk, and make it flow amazingly. My next question is, can he come to LA and DJ here? I would go to any party if he's the DJ.

Matt Corby

I was going from video to video on youtube and I stumbled upon Matt Corby. I love his work, his genre is like folk. If I had to compare him to artists, I would say he sounds like a mix between Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons. I see he is on tour now so you guys should check out if he is in your town. Unfortunately for me the only show in LA is at Hotel Cafe which is 21+ and I am not 21 nor do I have a fakey. So I can't see him live! Anyways, I just wanted to share this artist with you because I think his voice is amazing & worth sharing.
Oh and I wasn't able to provide a link right on my blog for a free download but if you go to his site you can get a FREE DOWNLOAD of Colored Stones and Walls.

1st Single = PRIMADONNA

so excited to announce that Marina and the Diamonds is coming out with a new single PRIMADONNA on April 16, 2012! I saw her live back at Coachella 2011 and she is the most amazing singer. By far one of the best concerts I have been (and I have been to a bunch). After her concert I left feeling inspired, and happy. I am so excited for her Single to come out and I WILL be pre-ordering this!

DEADMAU5 WEARING SKRILLEX PHONE NUMBER

The Kooks at Fox Theatre

It's true! I am going to see The Kooks March 1st at Fox Theatre in Pamona. The last time I went to one of their gigs was back in 2007 (I believe) at the House of Blues in Anaheim. They were my first real concert and my first obsession of an indie band. The tickets are $36 which is not to bad of a price, as a broke college student though it was like a million dollars. None the less it was money well spent. I hope for a great show! Now the only question is what to wear??

Whitney Houston

It's horrible to hear that Whitney Houston passed away at age 48. Instead of talking about her passing I want to celebrate her life. She was an amazing singer, and an amazing person. Many of her songs are my classic Girl's Night Out tunes. She has accomplished so much, and has inspired many women. She has stumbled, and has gotten into trouble but honestly whats life if you don't get in trouble. She took risks, and was incredibly talents. How she passed away doesn't define her, but her accomplishments and talents do.
Whitney Houston is a Diva, and fabulous.

DR. DOG

The Dr. Dog concert was so much fun! Their last song of the night was Heart it Races which is my FAVORITE song. It was so nice finally hearing that song live & loud because it has been my ringtone/alarm clock for almost two years now. Their whole set was great! The crowd was insane as well! There was so much energy in the pit, it was insane. Crowd surfers were literally being held in the air and not just falling around, it was perfect. Last night I also bought a T-Shirt, I bought an XL only because it was the only size left. The shirt is practically a dress on me but I think I am going to cut it into a tank top and cut the bottom.
Anyways, I recommend going to a Dr. Dog concert, I recommend listening to Dr. Dog.

The Pretty Reckless

Taylor Momsen is the lead singer for The Pretty Reckless. The genre for her music is rock with songs like You Make Me Wanna Die, you definitely get a rebelliousness vibe from the album. I'm finally going to one of her shows!! My friend and I got tickets to see her live at the House of Blues in LA on March 14 ! I can not wait to hear her music live and loud and what she is wearing! I have no idea what to wear! I want to wear something a little more edgy, maybe some pleather pants?! Also, some dark lipstick to get the Taylor Momsen look.

Here is my favorite song, Miss Nothing and please watch the music video! It is sick.

LANA DEL REY

Elizabeth Grant or more commonly known for her stage name Lana Del Rey. 25 year old singer/songwriter has recently been getting a lot of attention with her songs, Blue Jeans, Video Games, and Born to Die. I saw her SNL show, and even though the critics are harsh on her I decided to give her a chance! She is only human, and like she said she is an artist and she will answer to her fans and not the critics. If anything, her not so good set on SNL makes me like her even more! It shows that she is only human and more relate able. I LOVED her Born to Die music video, I watched it 3 times in a row when I first saw it, and I keep listening to the song. It is my favorite.

She is performing at Ameoba Record Store February 7th !! You know I will be there to see her perform, I am so excited! Also, the show at Ameoba is FREE, you just have to get there SUPER early to make sure you get a spot inside the store, and a good spot.

Here is a FREE DOWNLOAD of Blue Jeans remixed by Penguin Prison.

DR. DOG AT THE OBSERVATORY

I am FINALLY seeing Dr. Dog live!! So excited and the tickets were only $22!! super cheap. I have been listening to them for a couple years now and have always tried to find a show but something always got in the way. NOW I can hear my favorite song live & loud!

SAINT MOTEL

Let me start by saying that I love this band! I have been to a plethora amount of their shows. I recommend going to their gigs, no matter what you will have fun and dance. They're from the Los Angeles area, and most of their shows I have been to are in LA area. My favorite song when I first heard of them back in 09 was Dear Dictator. Now I love their new work but my heart is with their album ForPlay. Like I was saying though, a Saint Motel concert is so much fun! I have been to two Zombie Prom shows, one Witch Hunt show, a free residency at eVocal, and a Lobster Fest concert! I obviously love seeing them live. They have a show coming up on February 14th (Valentine's Day) like how they do every year. This one is the HEARTBREAKER'S HIDEAWAY which is unfortunately 21+ and this is my first year not seeing them on V-day. Rather upsetting, but if you are over 21 you better go!

Anyways, I want to share some photos from a Saint Motel concert!
The one below is from when I first saw them at eVocal, I am the girl with her eyes closed right to the left of the blonde guy dancing.
AND the photo below here is from when my friends and I saw Saint Motel at Zombie Prom! At the time I had no idea who this guy was, I asked him to take our photo for us, and he decided to jump in the photo too. Turns out he is the drummer for Saint Motel!! To funny.

Enough of me rambling, here is a FREE DOWNLOAD of Dear Dictator remixed by Sam Sparro.

FINK

FINK ||  FACEBOOK ||  TWITTER ||  MYSPACE ||  YOUTUBE

See It All came up on my ipod and I must have downloaded it when I go on those music downloading sprees because it was the first time I have heard this amazing song! Fink is mostly Folk, Blues, and a bit of Dub. This band is from Brighton, England. I hope to see a tour in the US soon! Would love to hear See It All loud and live. I get chills just listening to it in my car.

Here is my favorite song See It All.
truly an amazing song. Please LSTN.
