Fartbarf @ the Aquarium of the Pacific

Over the weekend I went to a night dive event at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It was such a great night filled with booze, bands, food trucks, sharks, and all sorts of marine life. My main reason of going was to see Fartbarf. If you don't know Fartbarf, you should get acquainted as soon as possible. This band is always a great time and their beats are so contagious you can't help but to dance.

DIMOND SAINTS

      

West Coast electronic music pioneer An-Ten-Nae and beat master Releece have joined forces to form Dimond Saints. "Their music drips with passion like beads of sweat. Pulsating beats and deep, subtle melodies guide you down a welcoming road as you dance your way into the unknown". This description could not fit their sound more perfectly.

Dimond Saints are set to release tracks from The Rising, the first installment of their three chapter debut album, Shingetsu (new moon in Japanese), it's a futuristic interpretation of bass music with a refined core of organic emotion.

Their music is reminiscent to many of my nights spent dancing and enjoying my time around The Do Lab during the night at Coachella. You might not understand that but I know for some Coachella veterans that vibe and feel is far too familiar. What I'm trying to get at is that Dimonds Saints is producing great feel good music that takes you into a trance.

THE KIN

            

Lovely little find! The Kin is an alternative rock band and is currently on a nationwide tour, in support of their new five-track EP Get On It. You might have heard/seen them from their Australian and US tours supporting P!NK, or their set on Conan a little over a month ago. You must make it out to one of their shows! The Kin is coming to 27 cities across the US in February and March 2014.  

The Kin, comprised of three lovely fellas; Isaac Koren (vocals, keys), Thorald Koren (vocals, guitar, keys), and Shakerleg (drums, percussion). They've recently signed to Interscope and released their current EP Get On It, released in October 2013. 

Please, check out their music video for Get On It if you haven't already. After watching their music video, the next thing you will want to to do is check where they're playing near you. For a guaranteed good night with great music go to The Kin live show. I know I will be attending their show in Santa Ana at the end of March to see what these guys are all about!

Lightning in a Bottle 2014

Let the countdown begin! Only 93 more days till Lightning in a Bottle (LiB) comes to San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, CA on Memorial Day weekend May 22^nd to May 26^th.

I'm can't wait to see the line-up for LiB 2014, with past performers including Rusko, Purity Ring, Tvcho, Panty Raid, Emancipator, PrettyLights, Fools Gold, The Glitch Mob, An-Ten-Nae, Lucent Dossier Experience, and many other incredible artists. One can only imagine what this year's line-up will consist of!

This festival is truly one of a kind, it’s produced by The Do Lab, and Lightning in a Bottle features not only electronic music, but also provides world-class yoga classes, workshops surrounding dance, sustainability, permacultre, and healing arts.

Attending LiB is an amazing experience that is truly not like any other festival, be part of something special and truly enjoy your weekend. This could be the best weekend of the year.
