Cage the Elephant

Cage the Elephant released a haunting and beautiful video for "Cigarette Daydreams," one of the most beloved songs on their new album, Melophobia. Acclaimed director Mark Pellington worked closely with Matt Shultz on the project, and together they created a moving portrait of the song's true meaning featuring a very special guest. Mark Pellington is best known for his work with the likes of Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, U2 and acclaimed films, including Arlington Road and The Mothman Prophecies.

Additionally, Cage the Elephant, arguably one of the best live bands around today, have now captured their blistering live show in the form of their upcoming release- The Live EP. The 5-track collection was recorded at the band's concert at The Ogden Theater in Denver, CO on May 17th. It will be released digitally on October 7th 2014 via RCA Records. The Live EP features live recordings of the bands hit single "Shake Me Down," and tracks from their critically-acclaimed third album Melophobia: "Cigarette Daydreams," "Spiderhead," "Telescope," and the No. 1 alternative hit "Come A Little Closer." They have had a huge summer playing almost every major US festival including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Firefly and Lollapalooza, always coming out the other side as one of the must-see acts at the festival. Cage the Elephant is Matt Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (guitar), Daniel Tichenor (Bass) and Jared Champion (drums).

"With Skrillex on guitar and Cage the Elephant's Matt Shultz on vocals? You'd have to see it live at Bonnaroo, or not see it at all."

Sunflower Bean

Sunflower Bean has made waves as they relight the torch and bring rock into the future. Julia Cumming (vox/bass, Supercute!), Nick Kivlen (vox/guitar, Turnip King), and Jacob Faber (drums, Turnip King), have all yet to turn 20, but are already veterans of the Brooklyn DIY scene. Drawing from a wealth of rugged lo-fi sounds, they have adapted the heroic charisma of Velvet Underground psychedelia and Black Sabbath’s dark rock to fit their own generation’s drowsy indie ethos. They're messy and sexy, hypnotizing and polished, invigorating and sincere. Sunflower Bean are the new faces of the new New York.

Sunflower Bean just released their new single "Tame Impala", a blistering sun drenched single with sharp hooks and incandescent guitar riffs. They've recently been featured in i-D, Rookie,and BK Mag. Sunflower Bean opened for Foxygen at the Constellation Room in LA and played a sold out show with Cherry Glazerr at Baby's All Rite in Brooklyn. Vocalist Julia Cummings has also been attracting a lot of attention after Hedi Slimane flew her out to Paris to walk for St Laurent during Paris Fashion Week.

Johan Hedberg

Johan Hedberg solo debut in 2008 with the 5- track EP "Grammy Awards " from the EP were played frequently on P3 and was hailed in the Swedish press. Since then he has made sporadic but highly acclaimed, live concerts (sometimes by 10 -man -band, sometimes self with loop pedal) and sat at home and wrote further on songs for their upcoming debut. With the help of producer Emil Johansson and hired musician he creates now a disc that combines politics and social realism with great pop songs. Nacka masts have a foretaste of bitter aftertaste. The debut album is released this fall.

"Former Suburban Kids With Biblical Names member Johan Hedberg is his own best company in the new video for “Nackamasterna.” The melancholy cut hails from the musician’s forthcoming full-length, due out by the end of the year via Labrador Records. Check out the 1970s-flavored clip below with a few of your friends…or all by your lonesome."

Gorgeous George

This summer’s festival favorites, Gorgeous George aka 6 South London mulit-instrumentalist roguster collective, Charlie, Chris, Jake, Tom, Kevin, Theo and the rest of their extended family of co-horts are probably about the most cheekily, sonically talented collective of everything you could possibly want from live music. Following swiftly on from the success of their debut 5 track ‘Saturday Night’ EP back in November, the boys have been in the studio recording a wealth of new tracks with Chrissy Boy from Madness and Youth (producer for Paul Mcartney, Pink Floyd, The Verve, The Orb and many more) who co-produced and mixed the songs, the lead track and video ‘Girls Night Out’ and backed up on the flipside with ‘Joop’ on B side.

It’s a full-on lyrical assault, a lung-busting gallop, with melodies and rhythms flying from innumerable instruments like the screams and pistol fire of a drunken Balkan wedding party in deepest darkest Peckham and it’s all about the Girrrrrllllls.

A blast on the trombone, the wistful strains of a violin, and into the circus ring lurches another vaudevillian cockney geezer from the songbook of Gorgeous George. Like a punch-up at an gunlicensed Eastern Bloc horse race, as the band sets off at a lung-busting gallop, melodies and rhythms flying from instruments like the screams and pistol fire of a drunken gypsy crowd. And in the midst of it all, a slyly observed tale of life, love and wrongdoing will emerge, sung in perfect South London council estate cockneyese.
Gorgeous George are a band who love to perform live in front of a crowd and with a busy summer of raucous foot stomping performances ahead at the likes of Beatherder, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, 2000 Trees amongst others, it’s going to be a non stop rolling road shenanigans affair.

The Furrs

Brisbane based rock outfit The Furrs are on a roll. Alongside a slew of live accolades, The Furrs are proud to present their latest sonic offering in their new single 'Money', as well as a slice of retro visual to go with it. Another offering of bluesy-rock goodness, 'Money' follows on from the tracks that put The Furrs on the map, 'Get On Your Horse' and 'Little Boy', which saw them named second in triple j Unearthed's "best descoveries of 2014".

Evil Arrows

Brooklyn based glam/psych rock collective Evil Arrows announces the release of their new single, “In Clover”, in anticipation of their new album, EP 4, which comes out on September 30th. The ensemble is the new project from singer Bryan Scary, who made a name for himself in the indie-pop band The Shredding Tears, which was featured on taste-maker sites such as Pitchfork, Spin, Filter, and Paste Magazine. Now, with a rapid-fire succession of material over the course of 2014, including videos, mini-albums, live performances, and collaborations with other artists, Evil Arrows is building their own reputation as a band to watch.
Started by Scary as a home recording project with the goal of laying down nearly 75 songs written over the course of just a few months, Evil Arrows quickly evolved into a multi-faceted collective when Scary enlisted fellow mainstays of the Brooklyn arts community to help flesh out his vision. Beginning with guitarist Graham Norwood (The Dough Rollers) and drummer Everet Almond, Evil Arrows eventually grew to include bassistAdrian Perry (Joe Perry’s son), guest appearances by Dan Edinburg (The Stepkids) and David Ostren (BSST), and even integral film and design collaboratorsThomas Nicholas (The Peary Kings) and Cassidy Gearhardt (Public Access).

Although influenced by artists like The Kinks, Guided by Voices, Brian Eno, andWeen, the group is set apart by an ability to jump between an eclectic array of genres ranging from 60s power pop to Brit rock, Glam, and beyond. With their "raw, energetic, and wonderfully restless pop songs" (Gold Flake Paint) recorded as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality, Evil Arrows hopes to convey the brevity, simplicity, and spontaneity that legendary pop music is known for. Stay tuned as Evil Arrows continues their prolific unveiling of new material throughout the fall and winter 2014.

The Walking Who

The Walking Who – Rohin Brown, Paul Mclean and Jay Drury - leap into the foresight of the general public and music industry. The release of their debut EP Mansions in September has led to many accolades, including snagging the spot as FBi Band of the Month, and support slots with The Growlers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Delta Riggs, The Drones, Dappled Cities, Palms and Sticky Fingers.

With the imminent release of their next EP, the Sydney-based outfit are keeping the momentum going with live shows alongside Dune Rats, Shining Bird and Wolf & Cub on the horizon. The recording of the next EP was not without trials though, with the guys getting moved on from multiple
makeshift backyard studios, due to the repetition of loud and obscure noises echoing through residential settlements (including the last incident with a brick through a hosts glass window). After tracking they recruited their good pal Rudy from The Delta Riggs to mix the first single, “With Roses”. The majority of the writing process took place in the idyllic setting of Byron Bay, which the band admit unexpectedly influenced their sound. Remnants of folk and country can be heard, mixed with equal parts positivity and darkness.

“As you can imagine, the EP took a different turn thematically to a darker place (after the brick situation) and the first taste of this is ‘With Roses’ - although this song seemed to cling to those initial
feelings of optimism”, says The Walking Who.

"Their sound, and line-up is amoebic with the super talented three main members able to roll with whatever’s smoking"

Jacuzzi Boys

Jacuzzi Boys are Miami-born tropical rock-and-roll and recently had about six wild nights in California and played rad shows. The trio went to San Diego, hitting Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Santa Ana, border hopping into Tijuana--and on the heels of a Tequila-induced night--rocking out a BBQ at LA’s Los Globos, hosted by Southern California’s favorite rock-and-rollers, Burger Records.
