The Furrs

Brisbane based rock outfit The Furrs are on a roll. Alongside a slew of live accolades, The Furrs are proud to present their latest sonic offering in their new single 'Money', as well as a slice of retro visual to go with it. Another offering of bluesy-rock goodness, 'Money' follows on from the tracks that put The Furrs on the map, 'Get On Your Horse' and 'Little Boy', which saw them named second in triple j Unearthed's "best descoveries of 2014".

Evil Arrows

Brooklyn based glam/psych rock collective Evil Arrows announces the release of their new single, “In Clover”, in anticipation of their new album, EP 4, which comes out on September 30th. The ensemble is the new project from singer Bryan Scary, who made a name for himself in the indie-pop band The Shredding Tears, which was featured on taste-maker sites such as Pitchfork, Spin, Filter, and Paste Magazine. Now, with a rapid-fire succession of material over the course of 2014, including videos, mini-albums, live performances, and collaborations with other artists, Evil Arrows is building their own reputation as a band to watch.
Started by Scary as a home recording project with the goal of laying down nearly 75 songs written over the course of just a few months, Evil Arrows quickly evolved into a multi-faceted collective when Scary enlisted fellow mainstays of the Brooklyn arts community to help flesh out his vision. Beginning with guitarist Graham Norwood (The Dough Rollers) and drummer Everet Almond, Evil Arrows eventually grew to include bassistAdrian Perry (Joe Perry’s son), guest appearances by Dan Edinburg (The Stepkids) and David Ostren (BSST), and even integral film and design collaboratorsThomas Nicholas (The Peary Kings) and Cassidy Gearhardt (Public Access).

Although influenced by artists like The Kinks, Guided by Voices, Brian Eno, andWeen, the group is set apart by an ability to jump between an eclectic array of genres ranging from 60s power pop to Brit rock, Glam, and beyond. With their "raw, energetic, and wonderfully restless pop songs" (Gold Flake Paint) recorded as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality, Evil Arrows hopes to convey the brevity, simplicity, and spontaneity that legendary pop music is known for. Stay tuned as Evil Arrows continues their prolific unveiling of new material throughout the fall and winter 2014.

The Walking Who

The Walking Who – Rohin Brown, Paul Mclean and Jay Drury - leap into the foresight of the general public and music industry. The release of their debut EP Mansions in September has led to many accolades, including snagging the spot as FBi Band of the Month, and support slots with The Growlers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Delta Riggs, The Drones, Dappled Cities, Palms and Sticky Fingers.

With the imminent release of their next EP, the Sydney-based outfit are keeping the momentum going with live shows alongside Dune Rats, Shining Bird and Wolf & Cub on the horizon. The recording of the next EP was not without trials though, with the guys getting moved on from multiple
makeshift backyard studios, due to the repetition of loud and obscure noises echoing through residential settlements (including the last incident with a brick through a hosts glass window). After tracking they recruited their good pal Rudy from The Delta Riggs to mix the first single, “With Roses”. The majority of the writing process took place in the idyllic setting of Byron Bay, which the band admit unexpectedly influenced their sound. Remnants of folk and country can be heard, mixed with equal parts positivity and darkness.

“As you can imagine, the EP took a different turn thematically to a darker place (after the brick situation) and the first taste of this is ‘With Roses’ - although this song seemed to cling to those initial
feelings of optimism”, says The Walking Who.

"Their sound, and line-up is amoebic with the super talented three main members able to roll with whatever’s smoking"

Jacuzzi Boys

Jacuzzi Boys are Miami-born tropical rock-and-roll and recently had about six wild nights in California and played rad shows. The trio went to San Diego, hitting Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Santa Ana, border hopping into Tijuana--and on the heels of a Tequila-induced night--rocking out a BBQ at LA’s Los Globos, hosted by Southern California’s favorite rock-and-rollers, Burger Records.

Milky Chance Sadnecessary Debut

After building palpable buzz and drawing widespread critical acclaim, MILKY CHANCE unlock the pre-order for their full-length debut, Sadnecessary[Republic Records], today and receive an instant download of “Flashed Junk Mind.” Following a special limited-edition vinyl release of the record on September 30, the album officially arrives in stores and at iTunes and all digital partners on October 14th. Milky Chance has turned out to be the hottest ticket of fall 2014! Last week, the German duo revealed their first-ever North American tour dates and shows literally sold out instantly, while New York and Los Angeles specifically sold out in less than five minutes.

Press continues to sing their praises. Rolling Stone recently named them one of "10 Artists You Need to Know Now". Nylon called their first single "Stolen Dance" a "breakout smash", Buzzfeed dubbed it one of the "songs you need in your life this summer". Radio has already caught on to the international smash as it has hit #1 at Triple A (four weeks straight).

Online “Stolen Dance” hit has gone viral with over 136 million streams across Spotify and YouTube. The smash song has taken over Spotify with over 75 million streams, hit #1 on the Spotify Viral Chart, and is currently #20 on the Spotify overall chart. However, the band is only beginning to make its mark on the United States. On YouTube, the official video for “Stolen Dance” just crossed the 61-million mark and counting.

Longtime friends Clemens and Philipp came together during high school in Kassel, Germany and founded MILKY CHANCE shortly after. Initially, they released Sadnecessary independently in Europe through their own label Lichtdicht Records and saw major success, hitting #1 in France and going Top 10 in 9 countries, while “Stolen Dance” took off online. Given their impressive debut and the power of “Stolen Dance”, they inked a deal with Republic Records earlier this year.

Sadnecessary is the beginning of something very special for MILKY CHANCE. Keep a close watch for a full- fledged North American tour in 2015.
In addition, the music community has embraced the group with Ásgeir recently covering "Stolen Dance" which accumulated over 200,000 views, while Imagine Dragons recently did their own live rendition of the song while performing in Hamburg, Germany with the crowd singing along.

Slow Turismo

Slow Turismo are a dynamic indie band already making waves on home soil. Their fresh take on indie pop has pricked the ears of local taste-makers who've gone on to brand them as one of the country’s most promising new independent names. Similar to the bold work of Big Scary, Bombay Bicycle Club and LCD Soundsystem, Slow Turismo writes music that nestles in between several genres, which are distinguished by complex arrangements. It’s a unique sound of intricate guitar parts layered on top of scattered drumbeats, with bass bringing the glue, as well as a plethora of hand percussion and even some trumpet, to fill in the gaps. Slow Turismo can take a song from bare bones minimalism to a cacophony of rhythms and harmonies one bar to the next.

Their live performances are a call to arms for marginalized youth who are looking for a dance
floor that has the energy of a house party, inducing the crowd to sing along to lyrics that are full
of relatable life lessons. They've shared the stage with Van She, Playwrite and electroupcomer,
Raus and are no strangers to music festivals, events and high-profile venues. The band’s first single, ‘Breathe’ captures the feeling of limbo as a relationship comes to an end. Yes, you may have just broken up with your girlfriend but its Friday afternoon, leading into a long weekend and you can deal with it on Tuesday.

Feexer

Feexer is an artist of Italian origin, literally a “one man band” singing, playing, mixing and producing everything he publishes. His sound is a blend of Indie, Pop, Acoustic rock and Electronic, merging various aspects of each genre in the most natural way.

“I never felt any contrast or barrier between guitars and synths, or acoustic bass guitars and drum machines. They’re all part of the same wonderful thing that we call music”
- Feexer

The Feexer project was born in 2013, when the artist started to release his first songs online and gain some exposure through SoundCloud, expanding his online fanbase thanks to tracks like “Everything” and “To Breathe”. Among his main influences, Feexer mentions Nirvana, Radiohead and A Perfect Circle, but also many electronic and dance music artists. “Diamonds and Defects” was produced and published by Feexer and mastered by Max Gilkes (Fink, Raffertie, Roots Manuva) at 1 Sonic Productions in Brighton, UK. The artist is now working on new material that, together with Diamonds and Defects EP songs, will allow him to establish a full live playlist and to start touring Europe in 2015.
