DARKSIDE

DARKSIDE is the collaborative duo of guitarist Dave Harrington and electronic producer Nicolas Jaar. The two musicians have vastly different backgrounds, but over the course of several years of touring together they found common ground: DARKSIDE. Dave and Nico use each other as mediums, working on primal instinct and summoning a hybrid of electronic music and psychedelic rock with the kind of artistic depth and breadth for which the term “progressive” was coined. (matador records)

Currently listening to Paper Trails, a song that progresses into the "cosmic outer edges through the immerse, body-moving framework of 21st-century house and techno". If I had to compare the simply incomparable, I would say DARKSIDE  reminds me of Empire of the Sun; but only the weird beats, not the over played song you hear on the radio. The sort of music lover who will love DARKSIDE is a listener who is able to let go and listen to the beats develop into songs that are produced with smooth rock and matching electronic beats. Psychic, an album of uncompromising creative vision from two artists working at the peak of their powers.

CHECK DARKSIDE AT COACHELLA ! and their Europen tour here.

Phillips spent most of 2013 on the road - with Matchbox 20, headlining a college tour and he brought his rootsy brand of rock-and-roll to arenas around the country as the opening act for singer/songwriter superstar John Mayer’s Born and Raised tour.

Sonia Stein

Sonia is a new female solo artist, already being compared in the press to the likes of Banks, Rosie Lowe, Laurel and Kate Bush. Although, I have to say her voice and eerie rhythmic beats are not like anything I can compare or relate too another artist. Her sound is incomparable, which makes me want to keep listening even more. I have to agree with Crack In the Road saying  'London songstress Sonia Stein brooding debut, comes with impeccable production, and a wistful, almost melancholic tone to Stein’s vocals, it’s immediately captivating.' Sonia has been in the studio working on new tracks with producer Liam Howe who has also recently produced Lana Del Rey, Marina And The Diamonds, Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding to name a few. I for one am so excited for this singer's future, I will be waiting impatiently to hear more of work and hope for a tour in the near future.
Listen to her new tracks, 'Symbol' & 'Demented Mind' below.

Birdie Jackson and the Arbour

One of the UK's most exciting bands, and Glastonbury Emerging Talent Winners, Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, are set to release new single ‘We Talked Again' in April 2014.
Taken from their highly anticipated second album ‘New Skin', ‘We Talked Again' is both powerful and fragile. Melancholy melody meets heart-pulling lyrics as the track develops from a mournful solo cry, to a cacophony of fast-moving instrumental lines and vocal harmonies.
They celebrate the launch of the new album with a UK tour in April 2014. Taking in a mixture of iconic city venues, including St Pancras Old Church in London and Gateshead Old Town Hall, the tour will see them playing to new audiences across the country, as well as their loyal fans, who have supported the girls throughout their meteoric rise from grass roots favourite, to critics' choice.
