The video for the album's leadoff track and first single,
"Forever Found," premiered recently at SPIN.com, which observed,
"Kan Wakan combine deep soul, dramatic folk, and orchestral pop for a
noir-kissed sound that could re-score a vintage James Bond flick with ease and
grace."
KAN WAKAN, which just wrapped up a month-long residency at
the Echoplex in Los Angeles. The trio also just played a show with one of my favorites, Dr. Dog in San
Francisco. The group has also played
dates with such artists as Other Lives, Big Black Delta, and Niki & The
Dove.
KAN WAKAN trio was abetted by Ian
Anderson (bass), Dannon Rampton (violin) and Jesse Aumiller (keyboards,
saxophone), all of whom helped bring the bold sonic vision for the live show to
full fruition. The Metamorphosis Chamber Orchestra, conducted by
Linev'suncle, Bulgarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra music
director/conductor Stefan Linev, contribute the sumptuous strings heard on the
album. At the forefront is Bautista's powerful, provocative voice.
