VTCN RADIO

VTCN RADIO (pronounced Vatican Radio) is a Parisian duo of experimental electronic music.
They just released their debut single ‘Riddle Song’ which you can stream on their SoundCloud. They use analog synthesizers, recorded sounds, which make their sound so unique and different. Take a listen for yourself to ‘Riddle Song’ and lose yourself to the song as their experimental sounds develop into a song will take over you.

I can imagine their shows being amazing, so I will be keeping an eye out for any upcoming shows in the states or over seas.

Jhené Aiko

I wanted to do a post about Jhené Aiko who's performing at Coachella this year! I didn't realize she was even on the line up until earlier today, because her name is in small font. I recommend checking her set at Coachella, which is scheduled for Sunday and most likely during the day. If her name sounds familiar it's most likely because she has collaborated with Drake, Childish Gambino, J. Cole and many others. I'm definitely going to be checking Jhené Aiko Weekend 2! Also, listen to her song 'Bed Peace' featuring Childish Gambino below.

The Living Statues

The Living Statues are an authentic rock ‘n’ roll band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the band consists of three lads paying guitar, vocals, drums, and bass. Their new EP Knockin’ reminds me of a Strokes album, with Tommy Shears voice (which sounds a bit like Julian Casablancas) and a raw upbeat sort of rock. Back in 2013 these guys have performed along side with The Vaccines, Hanni El Khatib, Best Coast and Mayer Hawthorne. The recently released Knockin’ EP was recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, NY.  Below is a free download link to The LivingStatues’ Knockin’ EP, I highly recommend giving these guys a listen. I will keep an eye out for future shows in the Los Angeles area!

FAIRCHILD

FAIRCHILD will digitally release their debut 'Burning Feet' EP worldwide on Friday April 25th through Canvas Sounds. Produced & mixed by Catherine Marks (Foals, Howling Bells, Wolf Alice), the EP will also feature a KNDR remix of 'Dancer'. In anticipation of the release, the band have just put out a new music video for the title track 'Burning Feet' directed by their drummer James Haigh.

Although being their debut EP, the band have been around since 2005. Going through several line-up & name changes before re-launching themselves as 'FAIRCHILD' at the beginning of 2013. During this time, they have finished up their Asia Tour and supported the likes of Neon Indian, Kids of 88, Parachute Youth, Red Riders, Parades, Cassette Kids, Canyons, Pigeon, Battleships, The Khanz, Cub Sport & Northeast Party House.

I want to be able to adequately describe their music but Fairchild's sound is hard to translate; I can say their music puts me in such a blissful mood when listening. Indie Shuffle says Fairchild "Sounds like Foals, Bloc Party, and The Temper Trap", but I say they may have bits and bobs of that sort of sound but Fairchild has successfully made their music that can't be compared too. Below they've got a couple of upcoming shows in the US, and I'm going to try to go to their show at one of my favorite bar/venue in Silverlake in May!

Upcoming Shows
Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast (Gold Coast Suns AFL Match) - April 12th
The Loft, Gold Coast (Oneway Street Unofficial AFTER Party) - April 26th
Baltic Avenue, Toronto (Canadian Music Week) - May 6th
Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto (Canadian Music Week) - May 10th
Cake Shop, New York - May 12th
Rendezvous, Seattle - May 14th
Hard Rock Cafe, Singapore - May 22nd

King Kash

The brand new single from King Kash is released today. "Will I Come" is the first track off King Kash's #TheRemixSessions which features a re-production of the track from critically acclaimed artist King Krule's first studio album "6 Feet Beneath The Moon". The remix is both produced, written and performed by King Kash himself with the accompanying video produced by Richard Woodburn, a frequent collaborator.

Born in Ukraine to Ugandan parents and raised in East London, King Kash had already started rapping at eight years old whilst being a cellist in his school orchestra. The artist and producer is also an Engineering Science graduate.
Keen to present his music in its best light, a major part of his campaign has been self-funded with King Kash organising his own shows since 2006. Having gone from selling his first mix tape in the streets of London’s West End to performing at the London 2012 Paralympics King Kash’s vision knows no bounds.
#TheRemixSessions are a prelude to King Kash's forthcoming EP, Metropolis which is due for release later this year.

King Kash will perform next Monday 14 April at one of London’s premier music venues RichMixin in the heart of shoreditch, East London. Backed by his live touring band The Royal Front Kash will play a mix of songs from both his previous EP "Worth the Wait" and his upcoming release "Metropolis".

Glastonbury 2014 Line-up

Glastonbury Line-up is out!! This is bitter sweet to see, I was one of many who tried to purchase passes to this years festival and was unsuccessful. The purchasing site kept crashing and while spending over two hours tempting to purchase I was shut down with it being sold out before even getting a chance to proceed out of the waiting room page. For the lucky ones attending, feast your eyes on this incredible line up.
