Audio Bullys

Audio Bullys are an electronic, house, hip-hop DJ from London. Recently I went to a warehouse sale in LA and the DJ started playing We Don't Care by Audio Bullys; I shazamed the song because I just loved the song! I unfortunately couldn't find a website for them, nor any upcoming shows. Never the less, I will keep an eye out for any shows in LA for the Audio Bullys.

Jagwar Ma

Jagwar Ma, an indie dance trio from Sydney Australia. After performing Coachella the last two weekends these lads are heading back overseas to for a tour (live shows HERE). I'm so grateful that I was able to check out their live set Coachella last weekend, Jagwar Ma was on my Coachella must see list. Not only did I get my sister, cousins, and friends to their set and love them; I want you guys to be just as obsessed with them as I am. I recommend listening to Cut Copy's remix of Uncertainty HERE; as if this song couldn't sound any better, it sorta just did. Also, after streaming their album 'Howlin' on Spotify or GrooveShark BUY it so you can play their album all the time anywhere. AND if you're one of the lucky ones going to Glastonbury Festival in June, check them out!!

P3CULIAR

P3CULIAR  [pe-cu-liar] is a music project by NYC-based DJ/producer Marcelo Corvin Baez. Role-play was produced by Ulises Lozano (Kinky, Mexican Dubwiser) and Marcelo. The album showcases an eclectic mix of funky pop, eerie cumbia, tropical rap, and dark electro. Featuring collaborations with Cakes Da Killa and SiselyTreasure, Role-play, P3CULIAR's debut LP, was released last Tuesday through Kin Kon Records, and CASETE.

Syntheticrocks is saying “Menea” transforms various genres: techno with hip hop, a type of reggaeton with cumbia, all thanks to that bassline and the accompanying hypnotic synthesizer.”
Also, keep an eye out for shows in the LA area! They're live sets sound like good time.

The Library Is On Fire

TheLibrary is on Fire have released the third single "1913" from their new album, Halcyon and Surrounding Areas; also out today. The idea for “1913” was to fill the song with references of some Five's favorite miscreants and decadent artists, to make a pop song out of obscure esoteric French literature and film. It's not wholly historically accurate, as Five notes: Marienbad is referenced and it's from the '60's, Alfred Jarry died well before 1913, etc. Though as Bullet Magazine has puts it, "you could dig deep into the allusions, or just enjoy it for the blast of fuzz pop joy that it is."

The recording process for Halcyon & Surrounding Areas began last winter when Five decided to rent a house in the woods where, armed only with his guitar, a four-track recorder, a notebook, and a bedroll, he escaped the chaos and confines of New York to begin working on the album. A month later, Steve returned to Bushwick with a cassette full of demo tracks which the band ultimately decided to record in their studio loft, dubbed TLIOF HQ. Travis Tonn, bass player and recording engineer, tracked the album along with Steve Five. The two began with an all-analog cassette 4-track concept, but integrated digital recording to mix the album. The loft recording space allowed the band time and the freedom to experiment with many inventive techniques such as flipping the cassette tape around to record backwards guitar, re-amping vocals through guitar amps, and running tracks through guitar effects pedals. The band also utilized an array of instruments including cheap thrift-store keyboards and harmonizers, vibraphones, and percussion. Ambient noise in the album reveals the band hanging out, talking, messing up takes, typing, working, etc.

RÖYKSOPP & ROBYN

ROBYN:
RÖYKSOPP:

Röyksopp andRobyn announce the release of the Do It Again mini album, which will be released on Cherrytree Records/Interscope May 26th, 2014. “Do It Again” is the first single and will be available April 28th digitally via digital download stores and streaming via subscription services. The single serves as an introduction to a new Röyksopp album to be released later this year.
The highly anticipated “Do It Again” tour with Röyksopp and Robyn kicks off this summer in Spain and hits the US.

Röyksopp: This 5 track mini-album is the accumulation and embodiment of the synergy between Robyn and ourselves. We've intended this to be a diverse yet cohesive and thought through musical venture; it's meant to be an expression where pop & art reign side by side.

Röyksopp and Robyn were inspired by each other’s company and compelled to create something they had never done before, building on the brief moments when they had come together in the past. Having worked together on “The Girl and the Robot”, which appeared on Röyksopp’s Junior album in 2009 and “None Of Dem” on Robyn’s Body Talk Pt. 1 in 2010, the Do It Again mini album sees the two artists doing just that.

Röyksopp: “This doesn't sound like Röyksopp featuring Robyn or Robyn produced by Röyksopp, it's just something else entirely”, “The word 'collaboration' has never before been more justified in the world of music!”

“Svein and Torbjörn and I started working on new music in the beginning of 2013, I´ve been going back and forth to Bergen to record and write with the boys up until recently. Collaborating with S & T is something I enjoy very much. In the beginning we just knew we wanted to do something together and then it started to feel more like a band thing than songs for a Röyksopp or Robyn album so we´re releasing this music together as a band you could say” says Robyn.

The Do It Again mini album represents the perfect coming together of three of the most original musical minds in the world.

“Do It Again” is the first single taken from the mini album and is an “accidental pop song” written after a night out together in Bergen. The effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tune started out as a rave-inspired throwback.

Elsewhere, the Do It Again mini album covers big thumping house with the club-ready “Sayit”, which features a near duet between Robyn and what sounds like an aroused robot. On the other end of the spectrum there is the closing “Inside The Idle Hour Club”, which utilizes Robyn's vocal discreetly to create a pensive, slowly evolving soundscape that's worth diving into headlong.

Do It Again is compelling not just for its personality, but also because it is simply not what you expect.
Tracklisting:
1. Monument
2. Sayit
3. Do It Again
4. Every Little Thing
5. Inside The Idle Hour Club
