Zaped

Originally the bedroom project of Brisbane producer Jordan De Pas, Zaped is an exploration in melody
and rhythm. Evolving into what has been described as ‘future groove with intelligence and character’,
Zaped has already drawn notable comparisons to Flume, Disclosure and Chet Faker – all while retaining
an unmistakable R ‘n’ B flavour underpinned by monster beats and melodic ambience. The emergence
of Zaped into the live arena in 2013 coincided with the release of his debut single ‘Feeling’ followed by
the hard hitting ‘Come Black of the Year’. 2014 brings exciting things for Zaped with the highly anticipated
release of ‘Paradise’ featuring vocals from the sultry and smooth Georgia Potter. Quickly gaining a reputation as a party starter, Zaped has already shared the stage with notable acts Baths, The Kite String Tangle and Glass Animals.

"A sound that sits somewhere between Flume, Disclosure and Chet Faker – it’s future groove with intelligence and character, but when Depas gets physical on the drum pads he underpins it all with focused energy."

James Bay

Buzzing UK singer and songwriter James Bay has released his second EP, Let It Go [Republic Records], via iTunes and other digital retailers. This is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed U.S. debut, last year’s The Dark of the Morning. “If You Ever Want to Be in Love,” the lead single off of the EP, premiered yesterday on Nylon.com to rave reviews. Only available in the U.S. “If You Ever Want to Be in Love” rolls from heavenly acoustic guitars and piano into a robust refrain from the singer. It’s a bright and unforgettable anthem that showcases his immense range.

Let It Go also features the heartfelt title track, which stands emblematic of his songwriting prowess and artful lyricism.  For both "Let It Go" and "If You Ever", he enlisted the production talents of Jacquire King [Kings of Leon, Of Monsters and Men, Tom Waits], while mixing was handled by Michael Brauer [John Mayer, Coldplay]. The whole world will be talking about BAY very soon.

He’s also gearing up to support Irish sensation Hozier on his U.S. tour this fall.  In 2013, he toured the States alongside ZZ Ward and Wild Feathers. Meanwhile this year in the UK, he has supported Tom Odell, Kodaline, and John Newman, in addition to headlining Dingwalls in London—which sold out six weeks in advance. Recently debuted at prestigious UK festivals Glastonbury and T in the Park.  Bay remains a magnetic performer on stage, consistently captivating audiences with his powerful presence.

Bay hails from the tiny town of Hitchin, but he cut his teeth during rapturous sets at London's famed Blue Flowers Club as well as Notting Hill Arts Club in addition to supporting both Laura Mvula and Rae Morris. It was at one of these very performances that a fan filmed his set and shared the video on YouTube. The video quickly caught the attention of Republic Records who ended up flying Bay to New York and signing him on the spot.

The Phoncurves

Beloved Brisbane duo The Phoncurves are back with new single ‘Lover’, a return to the signature, soulful foundations laid with their recent single ‘Heartstrings’. The pair received lavish praise largely for their use of layered vocals, as well as a modern take on a beautifully classic, alt-pop sound. ‘Lover’ builds on all these growing band trademarks and showcases not only their stunning harmonies, but also a rolling groove, captivating lyrics and wonderfully left of center instrumentation.

Django Django

Django Django is a neo-psychedelic rock British band based in London consisting of 4 lads. Their self-titled album Django Django was nominated for the 2012 Mercury Prize and the song “Hail Bop” is featured on the soundtrack of FIFA 13. Since then they have released Late Night Tales – Django Django in 2014 that’s a mix of various songs the band members choose.  "We wanted to produce a mix that represented the band. It's what we're all into, so everyone put forward suggestions. It's what we are as a band; and we're kids that have grown up with an obsession about our mum and dad's record collections, like '50s and 60s stuff and then got into hip hop and dance music as we grew up. At the heart of it all is our parents' collections, with our tastes mixed in. Our Late Night Tales pays homage to that." Dave Maclean (Django Django)
