The Kooks at Fox Theatre

It's true! I am going to see The Kooks March 1st at Fox Theatre in Pamona. The last time I went to one of their gigs was back in 2007 (I believe) at the House of Blues in Anaheim. They were my first real concert and my first obsession of an indie band. The tickets are $36 which is not to bad of a price, as a broke college student though it was like a million dollars. None the less it was money well spent. I hope for a great show! Now the only question is what to wear??

Whitney Houston

It's horrible to hear that Whitney Houston passed away at age 48. Instead of talking about her passing I want to celebrate her life. She was an amazing singer, and an amazing person. Many of her songs are my classic Girl's Night Out tunes. She has accomplished so much, and has inspired many women. She has stumbled, and has gotten into trouble but honestly whats life if you don't get in trouble. She took risks, and was incredibly talents. How she passed away doesn't define her, but her accomplishments and talents do.
Whitney Houston is a Diva, and fabulous.

DR. DOG

The Dr. Dog concert was so much fun! Their last song of the night was Heart it Races which is my FAVORITE song. It was so nice finally hearing that song live & loud because it has been my ringtone/alarm clock for almost two years now. Their whole set was great! The crowd was insane as well! There was so much energy in the pit, it was insane. Crowd surfers were literally being held in the air and not just falling around, it was perfect. Last night I also bought a T-Shirt, I bought an XL only because it was the only size left. The shirt is practically a dress on me but I think I am going to cut it into a tank top and cut the bottom.
Anyways, I recommend going to a Dr. Dog concert, I recommend listening to Dr. Dog.

The Pretty Reckless

Taylor Momsen is the lead singer for The Pretty Reckless. The genre for her music is rock with songs like You Make Me Wanna Die, you definitely get a rebelliousness vibe from the album. I'm finally going to one of her shows!! My friend and I got tickets to see her live at the House of Blues in LA on March 14 ! I can not wait to hear her music live and loud and what she is wearing! I have no idea what to wear! I want to wear something a little more edgy, maybe some pleather pants?! Also, some dark lipstick to get the Taylor Momsen look.

Here is my favorite song, Miss Nothing and please watch the music video! It is sick.

LANA DEL REY

Elizabeth Grant or more commonly known for her stage name Lana Del Rey. 25 year old singer/songwriter has recently been getting a lot of attention with her songs, Blue Jeans, Video Games, and Born to Die. I saw her SNL show, and even though the critics are harsh on her I decided to give her a chance! She is only human, and like she said she is an artist and she will answer to her fans and not the critics. If anything, her not so good set on SNL makes me like her even more! It shows that she is only human and more relate able. I LOVED her Born to Die music video, I watched it 3 times in a row when I first saw it, and I keep listening to the song. It is my favorite.

She is performing at Ameoba Record Store February 7th !! You know I will be there to see her perform, I am so excited! Also, the show at Ameoba is FREE, you just have to get there SUPER early to make sure you get a spot inside the store, and a good spot.

DR. DOG AT THE OBSERVATORY

I am FINALLY seeing Dr. Dog live!! So excited and the tickets were only $22!! super cheap. I have been listening to them for a couple years now and have always tried to find a show but something always got in the way. NOW I can hear my favorite song live & loud!

SAINT MOTEL

Let me start by saying that I love this band! I have been to a plethora amount of their shows. I recommend going to their gigs, no matter what you will have fun and dance. They're from the Los Angeles area, and most of their shows I have been to are in LA area. My favorite song when I first heard of them back in 09 was Dear Dictator. Now I love their new work but my heart is with their album ForPlay. Like I was saying though, a Saint Motel concert is so much fun! I have been to two Zombie Prom shows, one Witch Hunt show, a free residency at eVocal, and a Lobster Fest concert! I obviously love seeing them live. They have a show coming up on February 14th (Valentine's Day) like how they do every year. This one is the HEARTBREAKER'S HIDEAWAY which is unfortunately 21+ and this is my first year not seeing them on V-day. Rather upsetting, but if you are over 21 you better go!

Anyways, I want to share some photos from a Saint Motel concert!
The one below is from when I first saw them at eVocal, I am the girl with her eyes closed right to the left of the blonde guy dancing.
AND the photo below here is from when my friends and I saw Saint Motel at Zombie Prom! At the time I had no idea who this guy was, I asked him to take our photo for us, and he decided to jump in the photo too. Turns out he is the drummer for Saint Motel!! To funny.

Enough of me rambling, here is a FREE DOWNLOAD of Dear Dictator remixed by Sam Sparro.

Fink is mostly Folk, Blues, and a bit of Dub. This band is from Brighton, England. I hope to see a tour in the US soon! Would love to hear See It All loud and live. I get chills just listening to it in my car.

Here is my favorite song See It All.
