RORY PHILLIPS

I stumbled upon this artist through twitter, and so happy I did. He is a London based DJ that has played in clubs through out Europe. He does remix from The XX, Digitalism, Munk, YACHT, etc. My favorite is probably the one by The XX or the one with Theophilus London. I would really love to go see him at a club in LA sometime soon, that would be a great night.

GRIMES

GRIMES ||  FACEBOOK ||  TWITTER ||  MYSPACE

Since her music video for Oblivion came out in the beginning of March I have been non stop listening to her new album! I watch that music video probably at least once a week, just something about it makes me so happy to see the video. Her new album is Visions. I recommend going out and getting it. I hope to see a tour in the near future for a couple of gigs in LA area. I just love her energy and style, and artistic view. If you didn't know she also likes to paint below is from her new album Visions and she actually drew the art, it's crazy good. I think one of the reasons why I love her work so much is because she is so different from all the other electronic artists, she is weird and strange. I enjoy seeing artists love their work and not trying to sound like what is already out there.

From the Visions new album here is a FREE download of Oblivion. My personal favorite song at the moment! Enjoy!!

In a post earlier I shared the Oblivion music video.
Here is another amazing music video for her song Vanessa.

The Ting Tings

I know you all must know The Ting Tings, they are a great duo. I really enjoyed their last album. I saw them back in 2009 at Coachella and their set was so much fun! They just released a new album out called Sounds From Nowheresville. Check it out, if you liked their first album then you'll for sure love their new work. Take a listen to their song Silence remixed by the Bag Raiders. I love it.

Also here are a bunch of remixes of the Hang it Up.

The Parlor Mob

Such a great band! They were an opener for The Pretty Reckless the other night at the House of Blues in LA.  I have never heard their music before that night and it was a great discovery. There was one song that I fell in love with, I'm not sure of the name but I got a White Stripes kinda vibe from their music. I loved it. And there was a point where the lead singer brings out a harmonica! That song was so good.
One random thing I noticed is that the band all were wearing really nice shoes, they all looked put together. Which I admire in a band.

Check out their soundcloud: DOGS

Taylor Momsen is by far the coolest girl ever. It amazes me that she is younger than me, and she acts way older than her age. The Pretty Reckless show was everything I expected and more. Surprisingly I loved her outfit, I was expecting some corset get up but her outfit was actually something I would try to wear (minus the sky high heals). My favorite song live was probably Zombie. Also the drummer from System of a Down played aerials with her and it was so good. I would totally go to another show of hers! Love her and her band.

ONE DIRECTION ON SNL

Boy bands are making a come back for sure! One Direction is a young British-Irish boy band that got their fame from singing on The X Factor, and shortly after the boys got signed with Sony Music. Their most popular song is "What Makes You Beautiful", it's so catchy! My favorite song is "One Thing".
I am so excited to see that they are performing on SNL April 7, 2012!!!! I know American teen boppers are going to fall hard for these young boys.

This music video is so cool! One Thing.
