Penguin Prison

Based in New York City Penguin Prison is an electro/pop type of sound. I had stumbled upon them through their remix of Worse it Gets by RAC. His voice is so captivating and makes me lose track of what ever I am doing. I hope I can go to a show in the near future, I would love to see how his music is live and all the vibes there is.

HERE you can get a bunch of free download MP3s of Penguin Prison music and some remixes.
Thanks too RCRDLBL.COM
While you are here might as well watch Penguin Prison music video fro Something I'm Not.
I really liked it, I think the colors match the mood of the song and goes with the beat of the music. Seriously if you watch I think you will know what I am talking about.

Apparat

His real name is Sascha Ring, and is originally from Berlin, Germany. I would say he is an electronic musician. Apparat started with techno kind of genre of music then progressed into electronic/glitch/ambient music. "More interested in designing sounds than beats" is the way the musician describes his style of music. I have to say I like his music because it is relaxing and it helps focusing when I study or am working. His music is not something I normally listen too, but that is what I like must. His sound is refreshing and soothing. I hope to one day hear Apparat live, I think that show would be amazing. I am going to keep my eye out for a tour in the States!

The Verve

I have not yet seen The Verve! sometimes watching live performances on the TV is just not good enough, I want to hear them louder. Of course I do like the song Bittersweet Symphony, and their newer song Rather Be. Little worried cause I have not seen a US tour in a while... hope something can change cause I would love to go see them live. Fingers crossed that they play Coachella this year, now that would be awesome!
I love love love this video of Bittersweet Symphony. Glastonbury 08

People Under the Stairs

I unfortunately cannot take credit for the picture above. I am talking about the one where they are performing at Coachella 2009. I did go to the set but I did not take that great of photos, I think this one is the best. I went to their set with out knowing who they were, all I knew was that my sister wouldn't miss their show for the world. So I thought I would check them out and see what she was hyping about. Turns out they are pretty good. I am not a huge fan of rap so you either have to be really good or be able to rap about something that I can relate too. They have done the job. My two favorite songs are Acid Raindrops and L.A. Song. It was a great discovery. I still listen to their music, and on a hot summer day while driving down PCH along the beach I roll my windows down and listen to People Under the Stairs.

Paolo Nutini

I have probably watched this video almost 10 times tonight. I love it. First time I watched it I was trying to watch what was happening in the background, second time I watched it I was focusing on the lyrics. Then my third or fourth time I watched it as a whole. Each time I replay the music video it gets better, if that is possible. Watch the whole thing, and more than once.
Check out his other music videos on his website Paolo Nutini. They are amazing as well. If you are really interested I recommend watching Candy, or Coming Up Easy.

Rusko

Christopher Mercer or more commonly known as Rusko, is one dupstep producer that I just can't get enough of! He is known for his song Woo Boost which is also my favorite song. I can confidently say that he has mastered dupstep.  Half of the time other producers give you a track and in the beginning the vibe is good then the song in a way throws up in your face... If that makes any sense. I think Rusko's songs do as well give off that vibe but with more rhythm and the dubstep sort of makes sense. I unfortunately have yet to see Rusko live so he is on my to-do list on concerts this year! I can only imagine what a Rusko show would be like, probably insane!

Empire of the Sun

Well what can I say.. Empire of the Sun is amazing! I have yet to see them live but they are definitley on my to-do list for this year. When I went Coachella I was really mad about set schedules becasue I had missed their set because I was at Animal Collective (which was INSANE). I hear that Empire of the Sun live is very entertaining, they have costumes, dancers, lights, and props. I guess they bring the music really to life. Definitley reccomend checking them out if you haven't already.

So instead of doing an mp3 and a video I decided to do two videos and no mp3. To really get my point across about their costumes and vibes you really must watch the music videos. To get the Full effect.
